William Carey

Was born August 17, 1761 and died June 9, 1834. Carey was a Christian missionary, minister, translator, social reformer, and a cultural anthropologists. He founded Serampore U which is a first degree-awarding university in India. Carey is known as the “father of modern missions.” Started as a cobbler. Carey is recognized for his significantly contribution to the birth of Indian nationalism.
Lott Cary

Lott Cary is an African-American Baptist minister and lay physician who was a missionary leader in the founding of the Colony of Liberia on the west coast of Africa in the 1820s. He was born into slavery in the 1780s and died November 10, 1828.
Heidi Baker

Heidi Baker a.k.a Mama Aida is a missionary to the nation of Mozambique. Baker is an overseer of Iris Global which has planted over 5000 churches in Mozambique and 10,000 over 20 nations. Iris Global has assumed responsibility for a former government orphanage near the capital city of Maputo. The operations of that ministry include well-drilling, free health clinics, village feeding programs, the operation of primary and secondary schools, and cottage industries. Iris Global is most known for their reports of miracles.
John Chau

John Chau was a missionary to the North Sentinel Island. Chau was a man of great conviction to seek out this unreached people group and preach the gospel. Unfortunately Chau was martyred by this group in November 2018. Chau is one of the examples of people who truly embody the true gospel.
